PHONE SCAM ALERT

: in more than a dozen states, including California, reports have been filed regarding calls from people claiming to be court officials or law enforcement officers. Do not provide any information having to do with your bank or credit card to anyone claiming to be an officer of the court or of the law. If you receive communication from someone requesting your personal information, immediately contact the fraud unit of your local police department. Be advised that although court personnel may contact you by telephone, they will never ask for your personal or credit card information.

Appellate Division

The Appellate Division hears appeals of infraction(traffic), misdemeanor(criminal), and limited civil cases.

Each fiscal year the Presiding Judge makes a recommendation to the Chief Justice who appoints the members of the Appellate Panel and designates one to be the Presiding Judge. For fiscal year 2025/26, the panel of judges includes the following:

Oral Argument

The Appellate Division will hear oral arguments on appeals every fourth Thursday of the first month of each quarter (January, April, July, and October). If you have an appeal scheduled for oral argument or would like to see what is on the hearing calendar, here are the scheduled upcoming hearings:
