Interpreter services must be requested in advance with the Court Services. Requests for a Spanish interpreter must be made no less than 3 days in advance; all other languages require a request no less than 5 days in advance.
Not all civil or family requests can be accommodated. If you provide contact information, you will be notified if the request cannot be accommodated. Please check with Court Services by calling 530-406--6708 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions. Fee waiver has priority.
Family (Non-DVTRO) matters requesting an interpreter must be set on the department's designated day:
Department 3 - 1st and 3rd Thursday afternoon
Department 4 - 2nd and 4th Thursday afternoon
(Ex: Arraignment, Preliminary Hearing, Jury Trial)
NOTICE: If an interpreter is no longer needed, the request must be canceled no less than 24 hours in advance by contacting Court Services at 530-406-6708 or email@example.com.
If the request is not canceled, or if it is canceled in less than 24 hours in advance of the hearing date, the agency or attorney who requested the interpreter may be required to pay the cost incurred by the court for the interpreter.
