UFCY Grievance Procedure for Court-Based Child Custody Mediation

The Superior Court of Yolo County along with the State of California recognizes the importance of having an avenue for the consumer to be heard in the event of a complaint regarding mediation services.   A complaint about how you were treated in Family Law Mediation Services or about the procedures used should be directed to the Court Executive Officer.  All complaints must be in writing and specific as to the reasons for the formal complaint regarding mediation services.  Please use the attached mediation complaint form.

To File A Complaint About Mediation, Do The Following:

  1. Complete the attached form.  All questions must be answered.  The court needs this information in order to fully understand your experience and legal history.  
  2. Make two copies of the form after you have completed it.
  3. Keep one copy for your records.
  4. Mail one copy to the following address:

To Process Your Complaint the Court Executive Officer will:

  1. Review your completed complaint form.  
  2. The Court Executive Officer or his/her designee will discuss the problem with the mediator and other court staff.  After this has been done, you will receive a letter from the court about your complaint that will describe what the court has done.
