If you need to ask for immediate court action to protect important rights on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2012, after the court's regular business hours, please call or visit the Office of the County Registrar of Voters. If election laws do not provide an immediate solution, the County Registrar of Voters will help you contact Superior Court officials, so that you may present your request to a Judge. To find the telephone number and address of the County Registrar of Voters, go to this page on Secretary of State's website: http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_d.htm.
If you are considering asking the court for immediate help after regular business hours about an elections issue on Election Day, please review rules 3.1200 - 3.1207 of the California Rules of Court. Those rules describe the “ex parte" procedures that will apply. Those rules are available on the California Courts website at http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/cms/rules/index.cfm?title=three.
