Drug Courts are specialty courts given the responsibility of handling cases involving substance abuse criminal offenders. Yolo County's first drug court began in 1995 in an effort to combat the number of drug related crimes in our community. Drug courts generate cost savings from reduced criminality and reduced jail time, as well as dealing with the underlying problem of addiction. The collaborative partners who comprise the Yolo County Drug Court Task Force are dedicated to the success of these criminal offenders by supporting substance abuse treatment, frequent drug testing and court supervision.
Yolo County currently operates an Adult diversion drug court, an Adult Felony Drug, and a Juvenile Drug Court.
