All the information related to the case should be organized so that it can be easily found in the courtroom.  This may include the following:

1. A copy of the lease or rental agreement.
2. Any relevant letters about the property.
3. Any relevant receipts.
4. Any inspection reports from the building inspector or health department,
5. Photographs
6. Police Reports.
7. Any other documents that might help the judge make a decision regarding the case.

Bring three copies of each paper with you:  one for the judge, one for the other party and one for yourself.  Make notes to remember what you think is important to tell the judge.

 

Children are not allowed in the courtroom.  Do not bring them to court.  If an interpreter is needed, the parties must bring one with them.  A family member or friend may serve as the interpreter.  Assistance for hearing impaired persons must be requested three days before the court date.
